Marietta City Schools has a rich history in the choral program, including the 25th year of a show choir. In 1976, our first show choir, Mountain Song was created by director H. Wayne Gregory. Mountain Song evolved into Encore in 1980, under the direction of Gayle Douthitt. Encore was the first group to utilize props, dance, and stage decoration. Encore made it's first appearance at the annual Sternwheel Festival in 1981, and performs in this festival regularly to this day.

Today, the top group in the choral program is Premiere. This group, composed of 38 extremely talented individuals, has nearly 40 performances annually.
